FAQ
Questions before you trust Notedge with your library
Short answers about the product, supported sources, privacy, export, fair use, and support.
Read the docsWhat is Notedge?
Notedge is a personal AI knowledge library for sources you choose to save. It is built for people who watch, read, and collect useful information but need a better way to find the exact answer later.
What can I save today?
Notedge currently supports public YouTube videos, PDFs, DOCX, XLSX, TXT, Markdown, articles, X posts, web links, and manual notes.
Is Notedge only for YouTube?
No. YouTube is the flagship workflow because long videos contain useful information that is hard to find again. The library is broader: documents, notes, links, articles, and other saved sources belong in the same place.
Does Notedge train AI models on my content?
No. Notedge does not use your saved content to train a Notedge-owned model or sell your content. AI features process relevant saved content through third-party providers so the app can generate summaries, embeddings, OCR, transcripts, and answers.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Settings includes a full library backup that downloads active cards as Markdown with a manifest and original uploaded files where available.
Can I delete my data?
You can permanently delete cards from the app, or delete your full account from Settings. Export important material before deleting because permanent delete is not a recycle bin.
What files should I upload?
Upload documents you trust and have permission to process. During launch, Notedge supports PDF, DOCX, XLSX, TXT, and Markdown; blocks macro-enabled Office files; keeps originals private; and does not execute uploaded files.
What does fair use mean?
AI summaries, OCR, transcription, embeddings, and chat all carry real compute cost. Notedge may throttle, pause, or review extreme usage, automation, account sharing, or resale so the service stays reliable for everyone.
How do I get support?
Email support@notedge.app with the account email, source URL or card title, and what happened.
What is coming next?
The near-term release work is production readiness: public docs, usage controls, account deletion, legal review, support process, and monitoring. Product roadmap items such as knowledge graph, mobile, extension, and billing come after the current release track.
